STREAM Parents who were part of our community last year know that our new SCIENCE/TECHNOLOGY/RELIGION/ENGINEERING/ART and TECHNOLOGY (STREAM) Program 2019-20 helped our students to learn about cathedrals. All of our SCS educators worked in collaboration with Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in order to implement the unit not only during our STREAM special from Preschool to Grade 8 but across all domains. This year, we hope that our STREAM unit will again be foundational for our school community. Each grade will spend the year learning about 3 saints in particular. In this way, we are excited to celebrate faith, illuminated through art and science. Our SCS learners from Preschool to Grade 8 will discover the infinite mystery of God’s creation through STREAM. Throughout the year, we believe that our learners will grow in their capacity to appreciate, honor, and celebrate the example of the saints through their virtues. WPI will once again support our educators as we implement the unit with depth and breadth in order to help our students to celebrate our school virtue of the year – FAITH! Differently this year, students in grades Preschool to Grade 5 will have 2 STREAM classes each week instead of 1. The extra STREAM Special class will replace Music Class. This was intentional to not only focus on our unit but to appreciate COVID-19 Prevention guidance that suggests prohibiting singing and use of many wind instruments.
