A Pre-K through Grade 8 Roman Catholic EducationThe Saint Catherine of Siena School Annual Fund was established in 2007. Over the past two years the annual fund has raised over $50,000. The money raised has provided for improvements in technology, professional development for faculty and tuition assistance for current families. Please consider a gift to the 2009/2010 Annual Fund to help us reach our goal of $25,000! Following is Mrs. Gretchen Hawley's 2010 Annual Fund appeal letter.
January 2010
On October 11, 2009, the Catholic Church canonized Father Damien de Veuster, the Apostle of Molokai. His life is a living testament to the Gospel message of service exemplified in the life of Christ. Through his love and care for the lepers, he modeled the motto of Saint Catherine of Siena School: “See Christ in Others. Be Christ for Others.” Your love, support and kindness have changed the lives of our students. You have truly seen the face of Christ in each child educated at Saint Catherine of Siena School, and have responded with love.
In the last three years, we have replaced the computer lab with all new equipment, purchased a Mac Mobile Lab for the Middle School, and installed administrative software for improving communication between teachers, administration and eventually parents and guardians. The “Gifted and Talented Program” has been expanded to include all elementary and middle school grades. All windows in the original building have been replaced, and classrooms have been painted. In addition, we were able to offer over $100,000 in tuition assistance.
Together, we have provided for the needs of children and families in this school community.
This summer, we hope to continue the painting on the second floor and in the basement. Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will benefit from the use of a new Mac Mobile Lab, and we will replace the equipment in the Science Lab. We will continue offering much needed tuition assistance to families who are struggling to give their children the gift of a Catholic education.
