Curriculum Overview  Pre-K/Preschool

The curriculum is based on the Guidelines for Preschool Learning Experiences. St. Catherine’s highlights the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and goes beyond these expectations. Prayer: The children discover God’s creation in the beauty of the world and the people He has created. They learn of God’s love for them and how special they are. They learn beginning prayers and how to bless themselves. Learning Experiences:

Free Play: The first part of each session is set aside for free play. “Play is the language of children.” It is the natural way a child learns and develops. Circle Time: The children gather on the rug to discuss the day’s activities. Circle activities of this time include:

  • Songs & Gross Motor Skills
  • Educational Games
  • Storytime
